I was at a client site today and I was creating some views. I got half way through and had to make a slight modification to the existing ones. I tried to do this and nothing would change. I tried several times on many views but it wouldnt keep the changes I was making. I then tried to delete the view and got the following error:
Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040E14
I then checked the sharepoint error logs and found the following:
9/07/2010 10:32:05.10 w3wp.exe (0x0FF0) 0x018C Windows SharePoint Services Database 6f8g Unexpected ' is full. To find out why space in the log cannot be reused, see the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases".........
Turns out the dba had set a hard limit on the log file size. Got this fixed and the site started functioning again normally.
